Machu Picchu was built by the Incas in the XV century sorrounded by 6 sacred mountains. It is probably the most familiar symbol of the Inca Empire, built by Inca Pachacuti; its name comes from a Quechua word that means “Old Mountain”. This site was built entirely of stone, using every space in harmony with function and nature. Machupichu has been known as the “Lost City of the Incas” named by Mr. Hiram Bingam who discovered it in 1911.

DIFFICULTY: Does involve some narrow trails amongst archaeological site, so sturdy footwear is required to help you enjoy it fully.
TRAIN OPTIONS: Expedition Option: This is the cheapest, but still a very comfortable way of get to Machu Picchu.
VISTADOME OPTION: Vistadome train is faster, has snack-service, bigger windows and is generally a more comfortable experience; if you prefer this service the let us to know at the time of booking (Extra US$30pp).

PLEASE NOTE: The plane tickets from Lima – Cusco – Lima are not included, the standard cost of a round trip plane ticket is between USSD140 and USSD 250 dollars, we can reserve them in behalf of you if you wish and we include in your budget. You must know if you reserve in advance the price probably will be cheaper.


This extraordinary experience begins at 05:30 a.m in the morning when we’ll pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the train station for a wonderful travel through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The train journey will take 3 hours and then we will take a bus for 25 minutes up to the Citadel of “Machu Picchu”.

Upon arrival, you will take part of a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sundial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central square; and all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side.

After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore “Machu Picchu” by yourself; then you will take the bus down to the town of “Aguas Calientes” to enjoy your lunch in one of the restaurants and in the afternoon we will take the train to return to Cusco. We will arrive after nightfall.
