MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PLACES TO VISIT IN OUR TOUR
Pisac Archaeological Center:
This archaeological center is located in the highest part of the mountain above Pisaq, and contains temples, urban areas and agricultural terraces. The quality of these archaeological remains is a testimony to the importance of Pisaq in Inca times.
The Pisaq market is a place full of color and tradition, where you will find high quality handicrafts produced by the residents of the area. The market occupies Pisaq’s main square, where you will also find the town’s colonial church. The Pisaq market is known for its textiles, ceramics, silver work and other unique souvenirs.
After visiting the market, we will continue to the restaurant in Urubamba where you will enjoy a delicious and relaxing buffet lunch.
This site was a strategic military, agricultural and religious center, which was responsible for the administration and control of the entire Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will be able to observe the large agricultural storage sites and military constructions, such as walls and watchtowers. The visit to Ollantaytambo lasts approximately one hour and 20 minutes. Ollantaytambo is also noted for being the gateway to Machu Picchu.
On the way back to Cusco, you will visit Chinchero, a colonial and Inca town with a rich history. Its residents have an artisan market specializing in beautiful handmade textiles made with natural ink, produced with the same pre-Columbian methods of their ancestors. Here you can see how they produce it and find beautiful pieces of textile craftsmanship.
Inca culture is alive and well in Chinchero, where residents still wear their colorful traditional clothes, showing the deep roots of ancient Inca culture, where modern society reaches its limit.
